Chumby Is Here!
My new Chumby just arrived today. It matches my new living room color scheme, but I digress… Oh, I just can’t wait to get home and play with it! It is basically a small wireless open source computer displays widgets, cams, pictures, RSS feeds and also has speakers to play web tunes (even works with another fave of mine, Pandora). I may use the countdown clock, the moon phase clock and of course, this is now my new alarm clock. So long bacteria laden hotel room alarm clocks. Hello bacteria laden Chumby! Ha ha!
The 2008 gadget of the year? Wonder if *you* will be asking for one as a gift at the end of the year? Hmmm…..

Fun! Even more fun is that this post is currently the only hit on a Google phrase search for “bacteria laden Chumby.”
I know I’ll be asking for one!
A Chumby or a Kindle? Chumby’s a lot cuter, and cheaper, and I do need an alarm clock. Kindle is more practical, but it also doesn’t feel proven yet. Will it have enough titles? Will I want to read off a screen, even if the resolution is good? Maybe I should just get both.
Wuauuuu!! It’s so fun!!! I love it!! I need one! muahahha
Too funny! I read about the Chumby in your blog and then it was mentioned Monday night on Spike TV’s “Playbook” show (it was a CSI double feature). They recommended it as a fun gadget to own.
How did you get pandora on the chumby?
I would love to have one of these on my desk at work, but alas, we’re without WiFi. I guess I’ll just have to cross my fingers and hope that my current alarm clock kicks it sooner rather than later…
[…] it was sunny and 70 in Seattle today, but I had a high old time indoors, configuring my new Chumby: After spending a couple hours with this (literally) squeezable little computer, I am convinced […]
Actually Julio, I am still trying to figure out the Pandora/Chumby thing. I’ll put a pic up on flickr when I get it working tho.
I am pretty sure there isn’t any way of using Pandora on the Chumby at the moment.
Good news, Chumby owners:
As of today, Pandora is live on the Chumby!
Have fun!
