Well, the Libraries and Librarians Guild is off to a smashing start with a very nice group forming and getting to know each other. We even have members from three countries already (US, Australia and Canada)! And tonight we went on our first little group run together, doing some escorting, leveling and getting flight paths (I know that may sound like gibberish to some that don’t play the game, sorry ’bout that). Along the way we stopped and took some shots to share with everyone out there in Libraryland. Remember, you are welcome to join the guild even as a very casual player.

There are actually a ton of libraries in this game. This is our group shot at the library in Ironforge (that’s a big city in WoW with one of the biggest libraries as well):

Outside the main entrance to Ironforge, the Libraries and Librarians guild members stop for a group photo:

Libraries and Librarians guild members move in a group to protect each other along a particularly nasty stretch of road:

Michael Porter (aka Libraryman) and Greg Schwartz (aka Planet Neutral) strike a rather handsome in-game pose for posterity. I do not own that outfit in real life:

And remember: If you play WoW or even just want to try it our and you work in, for, or with Libraryland, you can now join the Libraries and Librarians Guild. We are new, but we already have a substantial Guild web site complete with a forum (very good in Wow-land). And a bank. In fact, we have a bank with three tabs and daily pulls for repairs (that is also quite good in WoW-land). Heck we even have an optional free (to you) Guild tabard (sort of like a t-shirt you wear in the game).

Thanks Michael for both your leadership and all of the time that you have been putting into developing and maintaining the Libraries and Librarians guild on Aerie Peak! I am proud to be member of the guild (Dwarf Hunter Ranganathan, ‘natch - that’s me with the Panda Cub). This is some of the most fun that I’ve had in my years of playing World of Warcraft and I am only too happy to re-roll with you guys on this server. Looking forward to our future exploits! See you in the World!

I’ll come by AP and say hi sometime ;)

…maybe I can scrounge up a lowbie lighty character somewhere on one of my other servers and move it over…

I have been avoiding finding out more about WoW because I’m afraid of getting addicted… you pusher you! LOL Perhaps you’ll see me there before too long.

Chrystie was talking about your guild when she was over for the PLC Conference in Aus, since then I seem to be logging in at the wrong times in order to get an invite!

I’ll have to try again this weekend, I think it’s really cool and can’t wait to tak to more librarians about books life and WoW.

    Hi Variel,

Awww, Chrystie is very nice! :) I am usually on more but I have had a series of trips to do presentations and, well, as you heard we launched the new WebJunction, so my time has bee sucked up. Happily, you there are a few other guildies that can let you in. I’ll also be on this weekend, mostly as Librarette. Also maybe as Libraryrogue and Libraryhuntr. You can add them as friends too! :) Don’t worry you are very welcome and we’ll get you in (and I’l send you a very helpful welcome package too:). In fact, I do believe we have another person from Australia in the guild already. So cool! :)

    See you soon, k?
